The real cost of a week in Paris

Beautiful neighborhoods, café stops, and a budget with room for the good stuff.

Compare neighborhoods, not just star ratings

Paris accommodation can dominate the budget, especially during major events. Compare rooms for your exact dates and confirm whether local accommodation taxes are included. A hotel near an efficient metro route can be better value than a more expensive stay beside a famous landmark. Also check elevator access, room configuration, and breakfast pricing if traveling as a family.

Plan paid sights around free time

Museums and monuments can add up quickly when every day includes a timed ticket. Pick the experiences that matter most, reserve official tickets, and balance them with neighborhood walks and parks. A museum pass is not automatically cheaper: list the attractions you will realistically visit and compare their individual prices with the pass, including any reservation rules.

Make food spending a choice

Bakeries, markets, and lunch menus can help keep costs down without reducing your trip to supermarket meals. Compare menu prices before taking a table in landmark-heavy areas and check what is included. Airport transport, luggage storage, and departure-day meals are easy to omit; the calculator spreads everyday allowances across nights plus one day to make those edges more visible.
